The numbers are stark:
π Between 2020 and 2023, the number of UK SME goods exporters fell by 19% β that's over 23,000 businesses who simply stopped exporting while OECD nations saw exporter numbers rise 1% over the same period
π Only 22% of trading businesses with 10+ employees exported anything in the last 12 months as of late April 2026
πͺπΊ More than a third of small firms still exporting to the EU are now planning to scale back or stop altogether
So I want to hear from you directly π If you've never exported, or you tried and stopped, what's the real reason?
